Rome bar, restaurant & club guide > Bars in Rome
Every day in Rome can be unforgettable and every night an adventure that ends with a delicious `cornetto´ (croissant) and a hot cappuccino at sunrise. There are many interesting and fun neighbourhoods in Rome, like the lively Testaccio quarter. If you are looking for a less pretentious option, where you can simply relax and enjoy a cheaper drink, try the university quarter of San Lorenzo or the small friendly bars at Trastevere. Gay Rome venues are also becoming more popular and despite the powerful Vatican presence even civil unions are now up for debate. The options in the Italian capital are plentiful: you can have a tasty black coffee (in any of its many different forms), a glass of fine wine in a cool wine bar or from an ‘enoteche’ (wine shop), a cold beer or even delicious liqueurs (like the popular lemon liqueur ‘limoncello’ or the bitter liqueur ‘amaro’). In many of the bars and cafés you can also order great ‘tramezzini’ (sandwiches), fresh salads and mouth-watering ‘pizzas romanas’. Rome the Eternal City is waiting for you, take your pick and enjoy!
